Serrato will seek reelection to House, not run for Senate

After mulling the idea of running for the open state Senate District 24 seat in Santa Fe, Rep. Linda Serrato, D-Santa Fe, announced in a news release Friday she instead will seek reelection to her seat in the House of Representatives. The release said she will also run for a leadership position in her caucus. 

The current occupant, Sen. Nancy Rodriguez, D-Santa Fe, announced last week she is not seeking reelection.

Two candidates already have announced their intent to run in the Democratic primary — former state Rep. Linda Trujillo and Santa Fe County Commissioner Anna Hansen.
